Announcement- Atremento Chronicles coming soon!

Announcement! (Please play theme music, if for no other reason than to make your day much more epic.)
The Guardian, by White Wall

Coming soon...

I was going to hold off until I had more ready (typed, edited, etc), but I couldn't wait any longer! This will be a blog series based on a series that I've spent 10+ years writing and just recently set aside to work on other projects with more seriousness. But, truthfully, I missed my characters and wanted to find a way to still write them in my free time. My hope is that I can post at least one addition to this fantasy "adventure" series at least once a month just for fun. I would like to post the first installment, the Prologue, this Thursday (DV).

What do you guys think??!

Half-way Mini-Review of Deliver by Tricia Mingerink

Image may contain: text

I had hoped to finish Deliver by now and have a review up for you before the launch on Friday this week, however, because I have adult things to do I am only half-way through it. I'm so very disappointed, but not too disappointed because I have done a lot of reading lately trying very hard to keep up. Some days just getting 20 minutes to read is a challenge.

I had also wanted to write 500 words this week. The Lord gave me plenty of other things to keep me busy. So. In the meantime, I can tell you a few things about how I am liking this book so far so pique your interest, but the review will have to wait.

-There is a new character in this one, Kayleigh, and I love her boldness and her green dresses. I loooove green. Kayleigh is relatable and lovable.

-I am beginning to see a new side to Martyn, and it's intriguing to watch his hardened heart soften.

-Renna's strong and sweet, and I feel so proud of her. She and Leith are too perfect together, and I really like his confidence. Even if he doesn't believe he is confident, he walks it and talks it like someone rooted in their faith for much longer than he has. This shows such a desire to grow and learn that I have a lot of respect for him.

-My favorite part of this one (and this is my favorite of all four) is this exploration into the question "What happens after broken?" We often see what happens until and during battle in stories, and sometimes an epilogue. Yet, very rarely do we see the rebuilding that happens after in such detail. By now, if you've followed the series, you've grown attached to some of the characters, and you find yourself praying with them, too. That part is comforting.

Come and join in the fun on Friday for the launch party, I would love to see you there!

Ireland & Deliver Launch Party

So it's been nearly a month since my last post, but you can forgive me because I have absolutely legitimate reasons for having gone incognito (as I do happen to do from time to time, always for good reasons- remember that).
This time, it is (mostly) because I went on a grand adventure to Ireland! I had hoped to share daily posts of my adventuring, but I was altogether too busy throughout the trip, and had too much fun. Therefore, upon returning to our B&B's each evening, we would find a nearby pub for dinner and then just crash immediately after. It was, indeed, what the Irish call a great craic. Here are some memorable photos.

in Athlone, on the Shannon River in springtime

at the breathtaking Cliffs of Moher, consider how great Thou Art

a random stop, across the road from Dunguire Castle- this picturesque horse just needed his photograph taken

above Aillwee Cave, in The Burren; what wild beauty that landscape had

in Glendalough, where if you closed your eyes you could almost hear those haunting melodies sung by the monks

a dinner in Dublin with fantastic story-telling and lovely traditional music, plus the near-end of a great time with one of the most gracious and graceful human beings I know

Also, the official launch party for Blades of Acktar #4 Deliver, by Tricia Mingerink will be on April 28, at 7 pm on Facebook. All that is required for this Friday evening just eight days away are your pajamas, something comforting to drink (cocoa or tea, of course), great music and Oreos. So simple, right? How can you not be there if you don't even have to wear pants for it, seriously?! I simply cannot wait!

I highly recommend this series; it is a wonderful blend of faith and adventure fiction, in a western setting. You can find links and more details at my writer's Facebook page. (As always, the link to this is on the right side of my page, just locate the pastel-colored Facebook button. If you can't find the right page or want more info, please don't hesitate to comment below or send me a Facebook message/ comment.) I will be posting updates and promotions in honor of the launch party on Facebook since I have signed up to be a part of the launch team. The awesome-est perk of being part of the launch team is that I get to read it before the rest of you. HA. Here is the beautiful cover to get you all excited for it.
